About the Role
The IE Cost Management Engineer acts as the key coordination interface for all Manufacturing Unit (MU) cost activities. This role supports the factory’s annual operational targets through Capex planning, manufacturing cost optimization, ROI calculation, and closed-loop management of investment projects.
You will be deeply involved in how the plant spends, invests, and improves — ensuring every ringgit creates real operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Annual Capex Planning & Cost Coordination
- Integrate, review, and manage MU annual Capex requirements
- Support operational target planning with accurate cost forecasting
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and finance teams for Capex alignment
2. Investment & Project ROI Management
- Track, monitor, and implement closed-loop control for all MU investment projects
- Verify investment effectiveness, savings realization, and project benefit closure
- Calculate ROI and prepare structured justifications for investment decisions
3. Operational Cost & MOH Optimization
- Lead cost analysis and improvement activities for MU manufacturing cost and MOH
- Identify cost-down opportunities across manpower, materials, equipment, and processes
- Guide MU teams on cost improvement actions and monitor progress
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Consolidate and analyze cost, Capex, and performance data for management review
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for monthly and quarterly reviews
- Ensure accuracy of data collection according to manufacturing cost management rules
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 3 year of experience in IE, production cost analysis, Capex coordination, or factory operations support
- Familiarity with manufacturing cost structure, MOH, Capex planning, and ROI principles
- Experience in cost improvement projects is an advantage
- Team leadership experience (≥1 year) preferred
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required due to the need for communication with Chinese counterparts and stakeholders
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical ability and excellent data accuracy
- Proficient in Excel for large-scale data processing and cost modeling
- Able to prepare clear reports and presentations using PowerPoint
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills
- High responsibility, strong follow-through, and ability to work under pressure
- English writing and reading proficiency; basic verbal communication ability
