Job summary

A leading investment firm located in Klang City is seeking a legal advisor to safeguard its interests through corporate transactions and compliance assurance. The role requires strong expertise in contract review and legal consultation, with a requirement for fluency in English and Mandarin. Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Law and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in corporate and commercial advisory. This position involves collaboration with internal teams and external professionals across various jurisdictions.

Job description

Provide legal advice and support on corporate transactions, M&A, and other business dealings to safeguard the Group’s interests.

Draft, review, and negotiate diverse legal documents including contracts, agreements, and corporate governance materials.

Conduct legal research and prepare analysis on complex legal issues.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines across various jurisdictions.

Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments affecting the Group’s operations.

Liaise with external professionals such as bankers, auditors, tax advisors, underwriters, lawyers, and regulatory bodies.

Coordinate with legal teams in key global hubs: Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, United States, United Kingdom, and others.

Support Group HQ management on cross-border compliance matters involving regulated or licensed businesses.

Provide case-by-case legal assistance to portfolio companies within the Group.

Handle any other legal matters assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law / Professional Qualification (or equivalent).

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in:

    • corporate & commercial advisory
    • private equity or investment transactions
    • cross-border corporate matters
  • Strong exposure to contract review, legal consultation, and clause drafting/modification.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and recommend practical solutions.

  • Able to collaborate effectively with internal teams to coordinate resources and resolve legal issues.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
