Import Assistant Manager (Freight Forwarding)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import Assistant Manager with freight forwarding background to join our dynamic team at Geodis Malaysia Sdn Bhd. This full-time position is based in Subang Jaya, Selangor and will play a crucial role in handling the import operation.

What you will be doing
  • Reports to Operation Manager.
  • Sea freight Operation handling for specific key account customer (until close of job).
  • To perform accurate & timely billing thru auto-rating (Import).
  • Delegating task and monitoring the Import team performance.
  • Monitor job files are turn to CMP (within 3 days from Import date) with accurate GP.
  • Monitoring of Interco billing acceptance (Import).
  • Monitoring IRIS clean up (Import) and complying to daily K4 Manifest submission meeting Customs deadline.
  • Render support Pricing Team for import DAP/DDP, if required only.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with external and internal customers and suppliers.
  • Assist suppliers and customer queries account payable and receivable, if required.
  • Generate customer reports if needed.
  • Contribute to other development of the department/ inter-department as and when required.
  • Attend to customers’ operational queries, support customer meetings and site survey if needed.
  • Any other task assigned by reporting manager from time to time.
What we are looking for
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of working experience in Freight Forwarding
  • Experienced in handling sea freight import operations with adequate knowledge in customs procedure
  • Well verse on sea freight import operation and documentation requirement
  • Familiar with INCOTERMS
  • Fluent in English both written and oral
  • Able to adapt well to company policies and environmental changes
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Efficient and effective in planning and execution of task
  • Good team player
  • Flexible and takes initiatives to tackle arising problem
  • Sensitive to the cost aspect of the jobs handle
