Position Overview

The HR Manager oversees all human resources functions for the Malaysia operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s regional HR strategies and policies established by the Singapore headquarters. This role works closely with local management to drive talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Malaysian labour regulations. The HR Manager plays a key role in strengthening organizational culture, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting the company’s continued growth in the automotive industry.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour law and HR best practices, experience in regional or cross-border HR coordination is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with both local teams and regional stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • High integrity, hands‑on approach, and strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
  • Tech‑savvy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all HR operations for the Malaysia entities, ensuring compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures in alignment with Singapore HQ standards and local requirements.
  • Manage payroll, benefits administration, and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, income tax).
  • Handle employee records, contracts, and HR documentation in accordance with data protection and internal control policies.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes for all levels in Malaysia, from job posting to onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and attract qualified candidates from the automotive and related sectors.
  • Coordinate with Singapore HQ on workforce planning and regional recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience and integration of new employees into the company culture.

Performance Management & Development

  • Support the implementation of the regional performance management system, including goal setting, appraisal cycles, and development plans.
  • Identify local training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives in collaboration with HQ HR.
  • Advise managers on performance improvement and succession planning strategies.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all Malaysia‑based employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with corporate values.
  • Drive employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and team‑building initiatives.
  • Manage disciplinary matters in accordance with Malaysian employment laws and company policies.

Collaboration with Singapore HQ

  • Act as the key liaison between the Malaysia office and Singapore HR team to ensure consistency in HR policies, compensation frameworks, and talent strategies.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and insights for regional HR and management review.
  • Support regional or group‑wide HR initiatives and audits as required.
