Job description

High Purity Specialist Graduate Trainee (Start ASAP)

Join VAT as a Graduate Trainee specializing in high purity processes for vacuum valves at Batu Kawan, Malaysia.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform engineering evaluations and qualifications of suppliers for surface treatments including high-purity cleaning, anodizing, plating, and micro-contamination control
• Review and understand international, VAT-specific, and customer standards related to material composition, mechanical properties, surface treatment, and high purity cleaning processes
• Analyze product requirements for problem solving and decision-making on quality issues
• Identify improvement potentials in existing processes for enhanced capability, efficiency, and cost reduction
• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), review data, and develop conclusions
• Introduce and train suppliers and internal teams on VAT-specific processes, standards, and customer requirements
• Develop tools and training for process qualifications at suppliers
• Coordinate with suppliers and product groups on new projects and quality issues
• Support Purchasing in sourcing and developing new supply chain concepts
• Assist during customer certifications and audits
• Review journal articles on materials science and high purity cleaning for innovations
• Support setup, implementation, and testing of internal Hard Anodizing and RGA lab facilities

About You

The company is looking for:

• Master’s or PhD degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or comparable fields
• In-depth knowledge of contamination control and high purity cleaning processes
• Knowledge of surface treatment processes, semiconductor processing, surface chemistry, and interactions
• Experience with problem solving process (PSP), failure analysis (FA), design of experiments (DOE), and technical report writing
• Excellent project management, presentation, and documentation skills
• Proficiency in English
