Job summary

A leading company in heavy machinery sales is seeking a Business Development/Sales professional in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. Successful candidates will identify new opportunities, promote products, build customer relationships, and drive sales growth. Ideal applicants should have a relevant diploma/degree and possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, and technical skills related to machinery. This role may suit fresh graduates or candidates with limited experience who are passionate about the industry and willing to travel.

Qualifications

  • Open to fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in heavy/light machinery.
  • Passionate about machinery or automotive sales.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities through cold calls, visits, and referrals.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Promote relevant products such as excavators, loaders & forklifts.
  • Prepare quotations and negotiate sales terms.
  • Offer after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Identify new business opportunities through cold calls, visits, and referrals.
  • Promote relevant products (e.g., excavators, loaders & forklifts).
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, and follow through on the sales cycle.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Understand client requirements and provide suitable product solutions.
  • Offer after-sales support and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date on product specifications, features, and updates.
  • Monitor market activity and competitor products to stay ahead.
  • Collaborate with principals and internal teams for product promotions.Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts to track performance against targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order processing, coordination, and delivery.
  • Liaise with technical, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support marketing campaigns and participate in sales meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Automotive, or related fields.
  • Open to fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in heavy/light machinery or industrial equipment.
  • Strong technical understanding of heavy machinery products and applications is added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about machinery or automotive sales.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office); knowledge of ERP/CRM is an advantage.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel as needed.
