Job summary

A food industry company located in Selangor, Malaysia, is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to ensure adherence to safety policies and regulations. Job description

Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

Ensure that all Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.

Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, environment and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.

Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.

Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.

Co-ordinate the development of health, safety & environment policies, systems of work and procedures.

Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained.

Establish a full programmed of documented health, safety & environment inspections, audits and checks.

Organize and manage the Health & Safety Committee meetings including taking distribution of minutes.

Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at workplace and communicate any changes to the Company.

Undertake additional tasks assigned as and when required.

Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree holder in OSH field of studies.
  • At least four (4) years working experience in related field.
  • Competent and registered with DOSH and a valid Green Book holder.
  • Candidate must have Competency in CePSWAM & CePIETSO (PCP).
  • Computer literate and skilled in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and drive to achieve results.
  • Willing to work on shift basis and be on-call in the event of emergency.
