About the role

A key leadership role within the Preschool and in directly accountable for all operational aspects of the childcare center, ensuring quality care and education for children; Oversee overall administration and management of the school. Creating a positive learning environment, fostering academic excellence, and promoting the holistic development of students.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible in strategic planning, curriculum development, and implementation to ensure the school's educational objectives are met.
  • To create a learning environment within the school that is conducive and to monitor students' improvement by setting suitable achievable targets.
  • Collaborate with department heads and teachers to develop and evaluate the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with Preschool educational standards and the school's mission.
  • Support the implementation of effective teaching methodologies and student assessment practices to enhance the learning outcomes.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that emphasizes respect, diversity, and academic integrity.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and faculty members to maintain effective communication and address any concerns or issues.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of teaching staff, ensuring they possess the necessary qualifications and are aligned with the school's values.
  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to teachers, promoting their growth and ensuring their ongoing professional improvement.
  • Assist in the coordination of extracurricular activities, events, and field trips, enhancing the overall student experience and engagement.
  • Oversee student discipline, ensuring a fair and consistent approach while promoting a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Monitor and maintain consistent standard for facilitators and students’ behaviour, monitor attendance, maintain guidance, health and food services for the children.
  • Develop procedures for centre’s safety and emergencies.
  • To ensure profitability of school and increase student count year-over-year.
  • To maintain regulatory or compliance documentation, accreditation requirements and operational records.
  • Planning monthly teacher’s training and / or additional training related to their job functions.
  • Participate in the communication and meetings with parents as well as handle complaints in a professional manner.
  • Guide and lead teachers in carrying out teaching and activities.
  • Coordinate and implement the school programme, events, annual activities and involved in the curriculum, and group outings.
  • Report to the management regarding progression and condition of each class that is under your supervision and to provide improvement if necessary.
Requirements
  • At least a Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of working experience in teaching and management role.
  • A retired school principal with relevant experiences can be considered.
  • Experienced in handling International School.
  • Preferably have handled multiple branches.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Malacca.
  • Language Proficiency: English, Malay and Mandarin will be added an advantage.
