A leading engineering company in Malaysia seeks a Head of Finance to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of MFRS, corporate taxation, and internal control frameworks. Responsibilities include leading financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic recommendations. Lead the preparation, consolidation, and review of group financial statements in compliance with MFRS
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Oversee the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across business units
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with financial and strategic recommendations
Govern corporate tax planning, compliance, and reporting across the group
Ensure compliance with Malaysian SST regulations and manage engagements with tax authorities
Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of e‑invoicing systems in accordance with LHDN requirements
Provide financial analysis, modelling, and scenario evaluation to support strategic initiatives, investments, and cost optimisation
Establish and maintain robust internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance
Drive improvements to financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Lead, mentor, and performance‑manage finance managers and senior team members
Collaborate with top management and cross‑functional leaders to align financial governance with operational strategies
Perform other duties reasonably related to finance leadership and aligned with organisational requirements
Demonstrates strong ethical judgment and professional integrity in all financial matters
Exercises sound decision‑making in complex, high‑impact situations
Communicates financial information clearly to executive and non‑finance stakeholders
Leads with accountability, discipline, and consistency
Challenges assumptions constructively while supporting business objectives
Maintains independence and objectivity in managing financial risk and compliance
Advanced knowledge of group financial reporting and consolidation under MFRS
Strong understanding of corporate taxation, SST regulations, and statutory compliance in Malaysia
Capability to design and oversee internal control frameworks and financial governance
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
Ability to conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation
Experience overseeing finance systems, reporting tools, and digital finance initiatives
Understanding of financial risks and controls in a multi‑entity or project‑based environment
