Job summary

A prominent culinary establishment in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Head Chef specializing in Japanese and local Malaysian cuisine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing kitchen SOPs, ensuring food safety, and managing team dynamics. With 3-5 years of experience as a chef, fluency in English and Malay, the successful applicant will be pivotal in menu development and resource management. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of working experience as a chef is preferred.
  • Experiences in Japanese or local Malaysian cuisines would be an added advantage.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement kitchen standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct audits and ensure strict safety, hygiene and quality control protocols in the kitchen.
  • Understand customers’ preferences and guide teams in food preparation & presentation SOPs.
  • Plan and execute new menu.
  • Manage stocks availability and storage.
  • Manage the work flow in Central Kitchen and outlets.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources such as stocks and staffing level.
  • Coach and develop the team for continuous growth.
