A manufacturing firm based in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a General Manager to lead the plant operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in plant management, with strong leadership and financial skills. Key responsibilities include strategic direction, operations management, budget oversight, and team development. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin is a plus. Provide strong leadership and vision for the overall operations and strategic direction of the Senai plant.
Develop and implement business strategies to support company growth and long-term sustainability.
Foster a performance-driven culture aligned with corporate goals.
Oversee day-to-day plant operations, including production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and safety.
Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources and smooth coordination across all departments.
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
Monitor plant P&L performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Build and lead a high-performing team; ensure proper training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Uphold company values and promote a positive and safe work environment.
Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to headquarters on plant performance and issues.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in plant or general management, preferably within manufacturing or renewable energy sectors.
Proven track record in leading large-scale operations, with strong knowledge of production, supply chain, and quality management.
Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and cost controls.
Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage due to liaison with HQ and Chinese‑speaking stakeholders.
