A leading telecommunications company in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior Operations Manager to oversee technical and operational functions. Responsibilities include leading network planning, ensuring high service quality, and managing vendor relationships. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have extensive senior management experience in telecommunications. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for this role.
Lead and oversee all technical and operational functions, including network planning, deployment, maintenance, and service delivery
Ensure high network availability, resilience, and performance, monitoring KPIs and implementing proactive improvement measures
Drive network expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and technology adoption initiatives, including 5G, fiber, cloud, and IT systems integration
Implement operational standards, processes, and governance frameworks to enhance efficiency and reliability
Oversee field operations, NOC (Network Operations Center), engineering teams, and technical support, ensuring optimal workforce performance
Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, SLA management, and technical compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including spectrum, safety, and cybersecurity requirements
Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity operations, mitigating operational risks
Optimize operational cost structures without compromising service quality
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technical and operations team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related technical discipline; MBA or equivalent management qualification is an added advantage.
Extensive senior management experience in operations, telecommunications, ICT, or network operations, preferably within a large-scale or publicly listed organization.
Strong technical and operational knowledge of telecommunications networks, IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, fiber and mobile networks, and digital transformation initiatives.
Proven experience in network planning, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and service assurance.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and relevant operational, IT, and regulatory compliance standards.
Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex operational and technical projects on time and within budget.
Ability to translate strategy into operational execution, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, including engagement with vendors, regulators, and internal leadership.
Completion of PMC (Project Management Course) or equivalent project management certification/training is highly desirable.
