We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking General Manager, Information Technology & Digital Transformation to lead our in‑house software engineering team as part of the company’s broader digital transformation efforts. This role oversees a team of Software Engineers and is responsible for managing end‑to‑end software development projects, including new application development, enhancement of existing systems, and customisation of our ERP platform.

The ideal candidate has strong management capabilities, hands‑on software engineering fundamentals, and is highly conversant with AI‑assisted coding tools to drive development efficiency and quality. This position plays a key role in modernising our technology landscape and shaping software products for both internal use and external sale.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Project Management

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Software Engineers, providing technical guidance, performance management, and professional development.

Oversee full project lifecycle for in‑house software development: requirement analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Coordinate digital transformation initiatives across departments, ensuring alignment of business requirements and technical solutions.

Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and reporting for stakeholders.

Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, documentation, and quality assurance procedures.

Software & Systems Development

Architect and design scalable applications, including new internal systems, customer‑facing tools, and enhancements to existing platforms.

Oversee development and customisation of the company’s ERP application (modules such as sales, purchasing, AR/AP, warehouse management, manufacturing, etc.).

Work closely with business users to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.

Review code, conduct technical assessments, and ensure high‑quality software delivery.

AI‑Enhanced Engineering & Innovation

Champion the use of AI tools for software engineering (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, etc.) to enhance productivity, code quality, and automation.

Evaluate and implement modern development technologies, frameworks, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.

Identify opportunities for process automation, system integration, and digital enhancements across the organisation.

Software Product Development for Commercialisation

Lead development and maintenance of software products intended for external sale.

Oversee roadmap planning, feature development, version control, and customer feedback integration.

Ensure product reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance.

Operational & Technical Leadership

Manage IT development budgets, vendor relationships, technology procurement, and system licences.

Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and SOPs.

Ensure systems meet security, data protection, and compliance standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve high‑level technical issues when escalated.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team‑lead role.

Solid experience in application development using .NET Framework, SQL, REST APIs, and preferably Python.

Experience in ERP customisation and integration (manufacturing ERP experience is a strong advantage).

Technical Skills

Strong fundamental programming and software engineering skills.

Hands‑on experience with system architecture, database design, and application integration.

Proficiency with AI‑assisted coding tools and modern development platforms.

Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or similar) and DevOps practices is an advantage.
