The General Manager – Footwear Business will be responsible for leading and growing the company’s footwear operations in Malaysia.
This role oversees end-to-end business performance including strategy, sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, merchandising, and people management.
The GM will drive revenue growth, brand positioning, operational excellence, and profitability while ensuring alignment with regional and global business objectives.
Develop and execute short-term and long-term business strategies for the footwear division in Malaysia.
Drive market expansion, brand growth, and competitive positioning in retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels.
Set annual business plans, budgets, and KPIs; ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
Provide strong leadership and direction to cross-functional teams.
Oversee sales performance across all channels (own retail, distributors, online, key accounts).
Work closely with marketing teams to execute effective brand, product, and promotional strategies.
Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to inform decision‑making.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, retailers, and distributors.
Ensure efficient inventory planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain management.
Optimize operational processes to improve cost efficiency and service levels.
Oversee retail operations, store performance, and expansion plans where applicable.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Manage P&L for the footwear business in Malaysia.
Monitor costs, margins, and cash flow to ensure financial health.
Prepare and present business performance reports to senior management.
Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing management team.
Build strong organizational capability and succession planning.
Foster a performance‑driven, collaborative, and ethical work culture.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the footwear, fashion, or retail industry.
Proven experience in a senior leadership or general management role.
Strong understanding of the Malaysian retail and consumer market.
Demonstrated success in managing P&L and driving business growth.
