Job description

The Fish Health Executive serves as the key assistant to the Fish Health Manager by leading fish health data management, coordinating junior and assistant staff, maintaining structured documentation, and supporting fish health operations across nursery and grow-out units. The role ensures accurate reporting, strong communication, operational follow-up, and effective execution of biosecurity, monitoring, and diagnostic workflows for optimal tilapia production.

This position requires an understanding of all junior-level tasks and the ability to supervise and support the team.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain structured, audit-ready digital documentation for necropsy images, sampling logs, lab results, and mortality tracking.

Ensure correct sample labelling, numbering, traceability, and proper documentation workflow.

Analyse fish health data (mortality trends, water quality patterns, diagnostics).

Prepare weekly and monthly fish health performance reports.

Support diagnostic workflows (PCR, histopathology, parasitology, sample submissions).

Assist in necropsy sessions and ensure proper data recording and photo documentation.

Preferred background: data analysis, statistics, Excel/Power BI/AI-assisted tools.

Field Operations & R&D Support

Support fish sampling, necropsy, vaccination, treatments, stocking, and cage inspections.

Observe fish behaviour and report abnormalities promptly.

Support laboratory operations, sample processing, and routine diagnostic procedures.

Coordinate sample preparation and delivery to third‑party laboratories.

Assist in R&D trials through structured data collection, monitoring, and record‑keeping.

Biosecurity & Audit Compliance

Maintain and update biosecurity logs, checklists, and SOP compliance across all modules.

Coordinate documentation for ASC, BAP, MyGAP, MeSTI, FQC, and other audit requirements.

Ensure field teams follow SOPs consistently and maintain biosecurity standards at all times.

Perform internal compliance checks to ensure audit readiness.

Budget, Reporting, Learning & Other Duties
Budget & Reporting

Assist in preparing the quarterly budget forecast for the FHE department.

Provide timely and accurate information as requested by the Fish Health Manager.

Allocate time to learn new knowledge, tools, and best practices related to tilapia health.

Stay updated with emerging research and technologies to support farm improvement.

Other Duties

Perform any other assignments as directed by the Head of Department (HOD).

Qualifications

Degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Biology, Environmental Science, or related fields.

Experience in fish health, aquaculture operations, or data analysis preferred.

Strong competency in Microsoft Excel, digital data systems, and analytical software.

Ability to lead junior staff and maintain consistent communication.

Experience

Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in aquaculture, fish health, laboratory work, or data analysis.
