A leading construction firm in Shah Alam seeks a Finance Director / Financial Controller to lead financial operations and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 8-10 years of experience in finance leadership within the construction industry. Key responsibilities include developing financial strategies, managing cash flow, and overseeing compliance with local laws. We are seeking a Finance Director / Financial Controller to lead all financial operations, strategic planning, project finance, and compliance for our construction business. The role supports executive decision-making, strengthens financial controls, and ensures accurate reporting to drive business performance and growth.
Develop financial strategies aligned with business goals.
Advise the CFO and management on financial planning, risks, and cash flow.
Support strategic decisions, investments, and business expansion.
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting.
Prepare monthly management reports, performance reviews, and cash‑flow analysis.
Ensure timely closing, consolidated reporting, and statutory audits.
Work closely with Project Managers on budgets, cost control, and profitability.
Identify financial risks and ensure proper controls.
Review major contracts, payments, and project expenditures.
Manage cash flow, working capital, banking facilities, and financing.
Negotiate credit terms with clients and suppliers.
Optimise deposits, loan repayment, and dividend repatriation.
Oversee PO, billing, collection, payment, and payroll processes.
Improve efficiency through process automation and system enhancements.
Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with policies.
Ensure timely tax submissions and compliance with local laws.
Work with tax agents to optimise tax positions within legal limits.
Implement audit recommendations and corporate governance requirements.
Lead and develop the finance team to ensure strong performance.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
8–10 years’ finance leadership experience, ideally in construction or project‑based industries.
Strong knowledge of WIP accounting and cost control.
Experience with ERP or project accounting systems.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
