Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia seeks a Finance Manager to oversee all financial and management accounting functions. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with financial regulations and prepare accurate financial reports. Responsibilities include developing budgets and forecasts, monitoring cash flow, and leading the finance team. Candidates should have a degree in Accounting or Finance, membership in the MIA, and at least 8–10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.

Job description

Lead and oversee the full spectrum of financial and management accounting functions for the Group.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with MFRS and regulatory requirements.

Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics aligned with business goals.

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risks, ensuring optimal financial health of the organization.

Manage tax planning, audit processes, and statutory filings in accordance with Malaysian laws and MIA standards.

Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.

Lead finance team development, including mentoring, performance reviews, and succession planning.

Oversee project costing, contract reviews, and financial evaluations for construction projects.

Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, and other external stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and internal controls.

Skills & Qualifications

Professional Qualification: Must be a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction or property development industry.

Strong knowledge of MFRS, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
