Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act 2016, Income Tax Act 1967, Sales & Services Tax (SST) requirements, and other relevant regulations.
- Coordinate statutory audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and business performance reviews.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Country Manager or Regional Management.
Taxation
- Oversee preparation and submission of corporate tax, withholding tax, and SST filings.
- Ensure correct tax treatment for transactions under Malaysian tax laws.
- Work with tax consultants on transfer pricing documentation (if applicable).
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
- Manage banking relationships with Malaysian financial institutions.
- Streamline AR/AP processes to ensure healthy cash positioning.
Internal Controls & Governance
- Establish strong internal controls to protect company assets.
- Review and update finance policies in accordance with local laws and corporate standards.
- Support risk management and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
Operational & Strategic Support
- Provide financial modeling for investments, cost‑saving initiatives, and business expansion in Malaysia.
- Support operational teams with data‑driven insights.
- Participate in regional or global finance projects when required.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor accountants or finance executives.
- Provide training on compliance, accounting standards, and financial systems.
- Foster a high‑performance culture within the finance team.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act 2016, Income Tax Act 1967, and SST regulations.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or audit.
- Experience in financial reporting, FP&A, taxation, treasury, and internal controls.
- Prior involvement in coordinating statutory audits and dealing with auditors, tax agents, and regulators.
