Job description

The Finance Executive is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and supporting financial operations. This is a senior-level position (2–4 years of experience required) and involves both routine and ad-hoc financial tasks, with exposure to tax, audit, and internal/external reporting. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and the employment is a 6-month contract with conversion to permanent (depending on performance).

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Assist in month-end closing and posting recurring or ad-hoc journals.
    • Support tax computations (WHT, Imported Service Tax, income tax).
    • Assist with year-end audit preparations, including data extraction and formatting.
    • Maintain records for compliance and assist with reports for internal/external stakeholders (Board, Audit Committee, regulators).
    • Manage asset records in collaboration with IT and CAS teams.
    • Assist in Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations for year-end reporting.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management
    • Assist in budget preparation and consolidation using Excel templates.
    • Prepare quarterly budget utilization updates and detailed financial data extraction.
    • Maintain records of budget presentations and communications.
  • Financial Operations & Systems
    • Support Accounts Receivable tasks including invoicing and collections.
    • Manage the Chart of Accounts and requests for new SKUs.
    • Assist in ERP (Oracle Cloud) operations and Excel-based reporting.
  • Ad-hoc Duties
    • Perform any other financial or administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred).
  • Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-starter attitude, able to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
