A leading finance organization in Kuala Lumpur seeks a seasoned Finance Manager to lead the Finance Centre of Excellence. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years in finance, with significant leadership experience, particularly in the insurance sector. Responsibilities include overseeing financial processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and managing a high-performing team. The role demands strong knowledge of ERP systems, especially Oracle Finance, and a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CPA.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 12 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
At least 8 years of proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
Minimum 8 years of experience within financial services, preferably in the insurance industry.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) or equivalent.
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, matrix-structured organization.
Strong end-to-end knowledge of insurance, finance, and procurement operations.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems; exposure to Oracle Finance and Procurement is highly advantageous.
Solid understanding of finance risk management and internal control frameworks.
Proven experience in designing and managing intercompany charging models and processes.
Comfortable working with internal and external auditors.
Exposure finance automation and analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx) is an added advantage.
Your application will include the following questions:
Lead the design and execution of the Finance Centre of Excellence (COE) Target Operating Model (TOM) to support scalable and efficient operations.
Ensure all Finance COE services are delivered with high quality, accuracy, and timeliness, in full compliance with Group policies and standards.
Oversee and manage the monthly financial close for Group Office (GO) entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Drive the intercompany charging framework, ensuring transparency, consistency, and accuracy of charges to Local Business Units (BUs).
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time of finance processes and deliverables.
Partner closely with Group Finance, Local BUs, Cost Centre Owners, and other key stakeholders to support financial governance and business objectives.
Establish and standardize finance processes to ensure consistency and best practices across the organization.
Collaborate with Company leadership in developing charging methodologies and managing overall financial performance.
Define, implement, and monitor SLAs and KPIs with GO and Local BUs.
Lead the rollout of standardized intercompany agreements across Local BUs.
Promote awareness and adherence to Group Finance policies, timelines, and processes through active stakeholder engagement.
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing finance team through effective coaching, engagement, and succession planning.
