Job summary

Field Engineer (Based in Klang Valley & Johor)

Report to Managers and/or Senior Engineers.

(FIELD) With given datelines, perform field works at clients’ sites – includes System Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), Troubleshooting, Preventive Maintenance, Repair Services, etc..

(APPLICATION) Technical and Engineering supports to service & project teams as well as the clients.

JOB SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Plan, Schedule and Execute the tasks/jobs assigned – Apply 4M (manpower, material, machine & method) approach. Control material and manpower costs. Implement best possible processes and methods to complete the tasks/jobs.

i. Collect sufficient technical data/information prior to field jobs mobilization. Conduct site visit & assessment.

ii. Ensure right manpower/skills and material required, confirm types of systems installed & apply right method & tools for the tasks/jobs.

2) Regular Update / Feedback & Continuous Improvement – Report to supervisor/manager to ensure issues/problems are taken care of. Highlight to the office of any special matters, i.e. customer’s contract issue, competitor’s intelligence, industry’s new information, system improvement possibilities, etc.

i. Prompt update/feedback of issues/problems on site.

ii. Resolve issues/problems as soon as possible to prevent them becoming worse.

iii. Maintain & continuously Improve the quality of field work. Always explore the possibilities of process improvement on the field and production.

3) Reports / Document Management – On-time submission of Delivery Notes, Service Reports, Technical Reports and other related documentation for billing purpose.

i. On-time billing by ensuring Delivery Notes, Service Reports, Technical Reports and other related documentation are signed off by clients upon job completion/delivery.

ii. Ensure immediate submission if invoices to the clients.

iii. On-time uploading/filing of Service reports and Technical reports at the office and/or in cloud platform.

4) (Field) Manage Customers and Contractors – Liaise with the client & coordinate contractor’s work.

i. Manage external human factor to ensure smooth execution, coordination and completion of the tasks/jobs.

ii. Coordinate work progress to ensure 4M are fulfilled to avoid delay and idling time.

5) (Application) Engineering Supports

i. AutoCAD and/or other engineering drawings for production & installation process.

ii. Periodic monitoring and field analysis of water conditions (i.e. LSI or other indexes) at critical sites to ensure good system performance. Perform field assessment for problems / issues that may occur.

6) (Application) Water Analysis and Reports Management

i. Conduct water analysis and produce reports. Systematic filing the reports (i.e. internal & third parties) at the office and/or in cloud platform, and on-time delivery of reports to the clients.

7) (Application) Chemical Inventory Management

i. Liaise with Project and Service teams for chemical consumptions forecast. Plan the orders. Monitor minimum / maximum stock levels.

DAILY TASKS
1) General

a) Coordinate with / manage vendors and contractors for the delivery, installation and maintenance works.

b) Immediate response to customers on enquiries, complaints, feedback, requests, questions, etc.

c) Support customers remotely for technical consultation.

d) Identify / develop opportunity for Systems upgrades, expansions or modifications as needed.

e) Provide technical training for customers and end users.

f) Identify and solve problems during on-site works through critical thinking and experienced base techniques.

g) Filing of documents (i.e. reports, delivery orders, invoices, etc.) in hard folders and/or in cloud platform.

2) Field Engineer

a) Execute project and service processes, progress claims, service invoices, prepare purchase order and delivery order.

b) Field Installation, T&C of Water Treatment and Filtration systems (i.e. the Systems) at site.

c) Constant Communicate with clients to update on project progress and service implementation schedule.

d) Plan / perform the Preventive Maintenance of the Systems, to ensure reliable and efficient operation, as well as to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.

3) Application Engineer

a) Conduct water analysis for samples taken from the fields (i.e. service and project sites), manage the reports and on-time submission of the reports to the clients.

b) Upkeep and Maintain the water analysis instrumentation, includes periodic check and calibration.

c) Monitor chemical stocks level and forecast, plan and order the chemicals from vendors.

d) Monitor water qualities of critical sites and forecast/predict potential issues / problems and discuss with the operation teams (service or project) for corrective actions.

PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

1) MALAYSIAN ONLY. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering/Science.

2) 1 – 3 years field and practical working experience on the equipment/machines. However, Fresh Graduates are also encouraged to apply.

3) Preferred knowledge: Technically competent with HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) services, equipment and system troubleshooting.

4) Preferred Skills: Electrical and control system, water treatment chemicals and systems, cooling tower and industrial filtration systems.

REMUNERATIONS AND BENEFITS

1) Salary Range RM2,700 to RM3,500 per month.

2) Monthly Allowances of RM575 for mobile phone & petrol bills, as well as other claims and allowances.
