The Faculty Manager plays a pivotal role in providing strategic and management support for the Faculty Dean with a particular responsibility for the administrative effectiveness of the faculty. This role will liaise closely with and advise the Faculty Dean and the Faculty Management Board members (Associate Deans, Heads of School and Department) on administrative, financial, and human resources functions to support the development, coordination, and delivery of the Faculty’s Strategic Plan.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the Faculty Strategic Plan, preparing analytical and informative documents and ensuring appropriate internal and external consultations.
  • Oversee and manage the faculty and schools’ budgets, including planning, monitoring, reporting, and providing strategic financial advice.
  • Manage faculty office administration: recruitment, staff development, performance management, resource deployment, best practices, and upholding Equal Opportunity, health & safety standards.
  • Provide internal and external communication, advise the Dean on staff/student matters, manage physical and IT infrastructure, and coordinate university‑wide initiatives.
  • Support the Academic Development Committee (ADC) within the faculty to encourage open communication and multi‑directional feedback for collaboration.
  • Perform other duties assigned based on the evolving needs of the faculty.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in any field and significant professional experience in a similar or related role.
  • Experience working with senior management in a diverse and challenging environment; higher education sector experience preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with senior staff.
  • Experience managing a team in a complex environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with integrity and discretion.
  • Knowledge of academic processes and administration.
  • Understanding of the British or tertiary education system and processes.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including budget management and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in communicating financial data and using financial systems.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills at all organisational levels.
  • High relational skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Articulate, confident, persuasive, tactful, and diplomatic.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with creative decision making.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a track record of enabling high‑performing teams.
