Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Export Sales Manager to lead and manage international sales operations. You will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans, conducting market research, and building relationships with overseas clients. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of export sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing sector, and be fluent in both English and Mandarin. Job description

To lead and manage export sales operations by developing and executing strategic sales plans to expand the company’s international customer base, increase revenue, and build brand presence across overseas markets.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify sales opportunities and evaluate international customer needs
  • Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities in international markets to expand the company’s global footprint
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, agents, and distributors
  • Plan and execute overseas visits, client meetings, and product presentations to promote offerings and secure deals
  • Analyze international sales performance and market trends to optimize strategy and performance
  • Coordinate closely with internal departments to ensure stock availability, pricing, and product readiness for export markets
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills to work with other departments and resolve internal misalignments
  • Good understanding of international logistics, shipping processes, documentation, and trade compliance
  • Participate in international exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences to boost brand visibility and generate leads
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, and terms with overseas customers to maximize profitability
  • Handle customer complaints, objections, and post‑sales support efficiently
  • Gather and share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitor activities with management
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and export procedures
  • Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates managing overseas accounts
  • Apply knowledge of logistics, Incoterms, customs clearance, and shipping to support international sales execution
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in export sales, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or related fields
  • Strong skills in negotiation, sales strategy, budgeting, costing, and performance analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively communicate with a diverse client base
