Qualifications

Job Description

The Responsibilities of the Role

• Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving the escalated incident in Linux Server platforms (onsite and cloud).
• Escalate the case to L3 Infrastructure/application team if needed.
• Perform the regular server operations such as setup, upgrade, patches deployment, monitoring and health checks, backup and restore etc.
• Responsible for system troubleshooting and performance turning.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentations.
• Providing support on issues related to servers, backup and storage.
• Liaise with external vendors for IT Server operations and maintenance.
• Intermediate level of experience in using BMC Helix ITSM (ticketing tools) or equivalent ITSM tools (example: ServiceNow, Opentext, etc).

Skill Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux server platforms (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with virtualization, backup, and storage technologies.
• Proficient in ITSM tools: BMC Helix, ServiceNow, OpenText, etc.
• Good troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Knowledge in AIX, HPUX, or Solaris is a plus.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English; Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Good multitasking and time management skills.
• Strong documentation and communication abilities.
• ITIL Foundation v4 certification preferred.
• Relevant Linux and Cloud certifications preferred.
• Willingness to work in shift rotations and be on standby.
• 3-4 years of relevant working experiences in Linux Servers, Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Backup and Storage.
• Sizeable company and ITIL experience are preferable.
• Knowledge in AIX/HPUX/Solaris is a plus.
• Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline.
• Desired Certifications: ITIL foundation v4, Any relevant Linux certification, Any relevant Cloud certification.
