What you'll be doing
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning, developing, and executing the Chinese menu.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and presentation standards.
  • Maintain consistency and quality of all Chinese dishes served.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Ensure kitchen efficiency and timely service during operational hours.
  • Monitor inventory, ordering, and storage of Chinese ingredients to prevent shortages or wastage.
  • Ensure all dishes meet the company’s quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
  • Conduct regular checks of kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create seasonal or special menus featuring authentic Chinese cuisine.
  • Innovate recipes while respecting traditional Chinese culinary techniques.
  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate kitchen team members to achieve smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular staff briefings and monitor performance.
  • Handle staff scheduling, leave management, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist in controlling food costs, wastage, and portion control.
  • Monitor kitchen expenses and suggest cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
