MILA University is currently seeking executives to provide administrative services, operational, and technical support to its Teaching and Learning vertical.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development of the Open and Distance Learning Course Design to deliver Self-Instructional Materials (SIM) for an effective learning experience.
The incumbent will report to the Head, Centre for Digital Learning.
Responsibilities
Learning Framework & Student Support
- Set and enhance the Framework and Standards for Open and Distance Learning Courses.
- Guide students on the requirements of Open and Distance Learning.
Collaboration & Content Development
- Collaborate with academic staff to design and create effective learning materials and activities.
- Recommend and support academic staff on utilizing multimedia tools to enhance learning materials.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Head, Centre for Digital Learning.
- Any other task as assigned by the Head.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design/E‑Learning Technologies/Multimedia/Information Technology/Computer Science with at least two (2) years of experience in higher education. Candidates with a diploma and at least three (3) years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience in using LMS and other educational tools and systems.
Technical & Instructional Skills
- Have intermediate skills in using MS Office (Word and Excel) and preferably have an understanding of Instructional Design Models (ADDIE, Gagne’s 9 Event, Bloom Taxonomy).
- Skills in multimedia software are preferred, particularly in recording and editing videos, creating graphics and visual assets for LMS courses, and developing interactive learning materials.
Language Proficiency
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
