About the Role
You will involve strategically in organizing and controlling the implementation of Health Environmental and Sustainability practices to meet organizational objectives and aspirations as well as compliance with internal and statutory requirements.
Accountabilities:
Sustainability Monitoring & ESG Implementation
- Support the execution and integration of corporate sustainability initiatives in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policies.
- Monitor and report sustainability performance metrics to comply with PETRONAS Chemical Group (PCG) and other stakeholder requirements.
- Assist in data collection, documentation and preparation of ESG disclosures and sustainability reports.
- Identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency, waste reduction and carbon footprint in port operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into various business functions.
Environmental Compliance & Management
- Serve as the Environmental Officer at site, responsible for environmental protection strategy, planning and legal compliance.
- Develop, implement and enforce environmental policies and programs in line with the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) and PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS).
- Monitor and manage environmental performance metrics including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, effluent discharge, scheduled waste, noise pollution and other environmental impact areas.
- Liaise with external environmental consultants, authorities (e.g. DOE), and internal departments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Occupational & Industrial Hygiene
- Support the identification, assessment and control of occupational health risks related to physical, chemical and biological agents.
- Plan and conduct exposure monitoring (noise, dust, fumes, temperature, vibration, etc.) and health risk assessments (HRA) for port workers and contractors.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, Factories and Machinery Act, and PCG-specific hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with medical providers and safety teams on health surveillance and hygiene training programs.
Qualifications:
- Holds Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or Environment or equivalent course; OR
- Bachelors in any Engineering or Science discipline;
Experience Required:
- Having a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in any HSSE field with substantial knowledge on HSSE Management Systems with bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or Environment OR
- Having a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in any HSSE field with substantial knowledge on HSSE Management Systems with Bachelor’s in any Engineering or Science discipline
