Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a professional to handle Tender submissions and cost estimations for various projects. Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical. Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and specific knowledge in Scaffolding, Insulation, Blasting & Painting, and Fireproofing is essential. This role offers the opportunity to analyze and prepare competitive cost estimates while collaborating with contractors.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of working experience in the related field.
  • Knowledge in oil and gas industries is an added advantage.
  • Must have knowledge in Scaffolding, Insulation, Blasting & Painting and Fireproofing.

Job description
  • Responsible for the preparation and subsequent negotiation of Tender submissions for all projects undertaken by LEOPAD group.
  • Preparing professional proposals to be submitted to clients in response to RFQ/ITB/Enquiry etc.
  • Ability to perform construction take-offs, estimate man-hours for your discipline of expertise schedule work using Excel, solicit and evaluate Contractor quotes, and work closely with other seniors in their discipline field in compiling a complete project estimate.
  • Responsible for generating competitive target costs for new Contracts. Prepare cost estimates for material, machines, fabrication, inspection, coating and related operation for new tendering Contracts.
  • Preparation of the initial Contract Estimate as a basis for Cost Control. Ensuring that all classifications of estimates are developed where necessary, basic costs are defined and comply with specifications.
  • Future forecasts and trends can be developed in support of the Project Cost Engineering function.
  • Maintain and update estimating statistics, methods and data, providing a comprehensive and reliable source of information.
  • Understanding of the engineering workflow for a project and manage priorities.
Requirement
