JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site-specific Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, permits, and client requirements.
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits of construction activities.
- Monitor air quality, noise, dust, water discharge, and waste management on-site.
- Identify and assess environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee waste segregation, storage, and disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain records of environmental incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Conduct environmental awareness training and toolbox talks for site staff and contractors.
- Liaise with local authorities, environmental consultants, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Participate in internal and external audits, site inspections, and environmental assessments.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports, monitoring data, and documentation to relevant stakeholders.
- Recommend improvements in environmental performance and sustainability practices.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and health & safety protocols.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and environmental monitoring/reporting tools.
