Meet The Team
As an Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the chemical laboratory, ensuring the efficient preparation, analysis, and management of chemical solutions in compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining solution preparation and testing equipment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and accurately documenting activities within the Maximo system. You will also support manufacturing operations by preparing chemical solutions for in-process testing and ensuring error‑free setup of testing lines. Additionally, you will contribute to engineering initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Where You Come In
- You execute the preparation, testing, and analysis of chemical solutions to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications.
- You maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments (e.g., YSI, Viscometer, pH Meter, weighting scale) to ensure accurate results.
- You ensure adherence to safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
- You conduct preventive and reparative maintenance duties on solution laboratory equipment and fixtures.
- You maintain appropriate documents (PM documents, pass‑downs, track‑it work orders) and perform IQ/OQ’s, equipment validations, and help maintain spare part inventories.
- You support the execution of equipment qualifications as needed (e.g., weighing scale, viscometer, pH meter, magnetic stirrer, optical inspection metrology).
- You collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, QA) and the US Solution Manufacturing team to support improvement and implementation of engineering solution manufacturing in Malaysia, focusing on wet solution preparations and quality checks.
- You are able to use hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturing test equipment, calipers, and solution measurement technology like viscometer and pH meter.
- You perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
- You follow Dexcom’s safety and lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) program.
- You are required to work any shift, including weekends.
- You can perform other duties as assigned.
What Makes You Successful
- You are familiar with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- You must have general computer skills.
- You can read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
- You can write routine reports, pass‑downs, and correspondence.
- You can effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers.
- You can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schematic, blueprint, equipment drawing, or schedule form.
- You can troubleshoot and maintain solution lab production/process equipment, perform equipment moves and setups, and work with external suppliers for equipment PM if the work can only be done by the OEM supplier.
- You can perform equipment activities (assembly, testing, etc.) under the supervision of process/equipment engineers, including completing engineering studies and validations.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal interaction skills.
- You can work in a fast‑paced, dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules.
