Job Title: Engineering Technical Specialist

Department: Operations / Engineering

Report to: Malaysia Factory Manager (dotted line to R&D Lead)

Job Overview

This role is the critical technical bridge on the ground in Malaysia. You will support the factory in implementing production processes, troubleshooting assembly issues, and ensuring the R&D team's design intent is correctly translated into mass‑produced units. You are the go‑to expert for the product on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Factory Manager in the technical setup of production lines, including fixture design, tooling validation, and workstation setup.
• Create and maintain detailed assembly instructions, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides for production personnel.
• Provide first‑line technical support on the production floor, diagnosing and resolving assembly, calibration, and functional test failures swiftly.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and work with R&D engineers to implement corrective actions (ECOs).
• Perform regular quality audits and lead training sessions for production staff on new processes or product updates.
• Manage the repair and rework process for units that fail quality checks.
• Compile and report production data, yield rates, and failure trends to both factory management and the R&D team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a technical support, manufacturing engineering, or product specialist role within a factory environment.
• Hands‑on experience with electromechanical product assembly, testing, and troubleshooting is REQUIRED.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Strong practical skills with hand tools, measurement instruments, and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Proactive, on‑the‑ground problem solver with excellent communication skills to liaise between factory workers and engineers.
• Fluent in English and Malay. Proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous.
• Passion for diving and water sports is a significant advantage.
