Engineer, Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Objective
The objective of this position is to ensure all construction activities meet established quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements by implementing and maintaining effective QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, and collaborating with project teams to prevent defects, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement throughout all project phases.
Responsibilities
- Brief and educate the project team and the subcontractors on the project quality plan and other client’s requirements which relate to quality
- Identify and develop continual improvement activities such as short term departmental/project objectives, departmental/project performance/trend analysis, management review etc.
- Develop and implement project-specific QA plans and procedures.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials, workmanship, and construction processes.
- Identify non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
- Prepare and maintain QAQC documentation including inspection reports, test plans, and quality logs.
- Report quality issues to project managers and recommend solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and client reviews.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on quality procedures.
- Attend project meetings and contribute to quality-related discussions.
- Review the method statement, inspection and test plan (ITP) and inspection checklist for client’s approval
- Support internal and external audits and implement recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Comply with Site Safety requirement and uphold Company’s Safety Policy
- Comply with Environmental requirement
- Comply and implement Company’s QMS Policy and Objectives
- Comply and adhere to Company’s Administrative Policy, Guideline and Site Regulation
- Control of the issuance, receipt, and circulation of all the documents.
- Keep important documents in a proper and secure place. Readily accessible at any time.
- Keep track of all document’s correspondence and transactions. Maintain and update all the filling and registers.
- Upload all the selected documents (by Manager) into DMS. Update of record hardcopy/softcopy (DMS).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection processes, and documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in preparing method statements, ITPs, checklists, and quality reports.
- Ability to conduct site inspections, audits, and testing coordination.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under deadline
