What’s The Role
The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, supporting Shell’s business & assets worldwide. The vision of SEAM is to provide capabilities across Safety, Environment, and Asset Management by:
- Shaping future ways of working through new technology and methods, including digital solutions, SBO, real-time data-driven optimization, risk management, and global programs like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy.
- Providing performance feedback to drive disciplined execution and deliver reliable, predictable results.
- Supporting businesses in building and executing improvement plans.
- Sustaining performance through strong core capabilities, including internal teams and contingent resources, building expertise and a consistent company-wide approach.
The VP TAO is responsible for maximizing integrated business value. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) enables Shell’s Asset Management System, supporting Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas, and Upstream. TAO delivers high-quality, cost-effective technical resources, integral to asset teams, focusing on end-to-end AMS work processes.
What you’ll Be Doing
This role supports the Asset’s PTM journey by applying specialized knowledge in remote monitoring of Wells and Production Systems.
- Monitoring Wells using tools like EBS, PI, PTM Toolkit for Proactive Technical Monitoring.
- Managing frontline wells and production systems monitoring, responsible for identifying downhole failures.
- Defining, implementing, and improving standard work for the PTM process.
- Providing engineering recommendations and troubleshooting anomalies.
- Sharing lessons learned to enhance monitoring for value.
- Managing stakeholder expectations regarding deliverables and KPIs.
- Networking with counterparts across units and developing external contacts outside TAO and Shell.
What You Bring
- University Degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Production Engineering.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in drilling, production operations, or Oil & Gas, especially in upstream or unconventional fields.
- Experience in remote monitoring of Wells and subsea/sub-surface facilities is preferred.
- Experience with Asset performance management tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of rotating machinery and process health monitoring.
- Strong learner mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to challenge, build relationships, and work across functions.
- Self-starter with reliable delivery, proficient in English, negotiation skills, and integrity in data management.
- Experience working across diverse cultural backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Understanding of business workflows and maturity to handle challenging situations.
