Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to assist in planning and executing engineering activities for civil projects. You will support site investigations, perform basic analyses under supervision, and prepare reports and documentation. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and may be a fresh graduate. Job description

Assist in planning, executing, and supporting geotechnical engineering activities for a variety of civil and infrastructure projects. This includes contributing to site investigations, data collection, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation, as well as supporting design and construction supervision under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning and supervision of geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, field testing, borehole logging, and lab testing.
• Participate in site reconnaissance and data collection to assess subsurface conditions and potential geotechnical risks.
• Perform basic geotechnical analyses under supervision (e.g., bearing capacity, slope stability, settlement, and soil classification).
• Assist in developing design recommendations for foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Support supervision and monitoring of geotechnical works during construction, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.
• Assist in preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and documentation based on field data and analysis results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Fresh graduate or one year of relevant working experience in geotechnical or civil engineering projects.
• Basic knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and site investigation techniques.
