Engineer (Telecommunication / Fiber Optics / Data Center)

Job Summary

We are an established company incorporated over 20 years ago, specializing in Telecommunication and ICT Engineering, with our head office located in Shah Alam, Selangor.

We are seeking Engineers (Junior to Managerial level) with experience in fiber optic works (FTTH, ISP அப Civil Works – OSP) and data center infrastructure (networking and structured cabling).

The position level offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and competencies. Successful candidates will be involved in projects for telecommunication operators, equipment vendors, and utility providers, covering Peninsular Malaysia.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop clients’ network infrastructure for new rollouts and upgrades
2. Prepare planning documentation, including technical proposals and detailed Bills of Materials (BOM)
3. Produce high- and low-level design drawings and plans using AutoCAD
4. Manage and coordinate in‑house teams and subcontractors for daily project execution
5. Monitor project progress and attend coordination meetings with clients and internally
6. Manage and coordinate daily network rollout operations, including permit‑to‑work applications with site owners and local authorities
7. Coordinate and perform Acceptance Testing / GPON testing with clients and prepare relevant documentation
8. Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations covering staff, customers, and the public
9. Prepare technical reports, including site surveys, network failure restoration, installation, testing, and commissioning
10. Provide on‑the‑job training to technicians and supervise contractors to ensure proper installation, facility protection, and maintenance procedures
11. Respond to network outages and perform service restoration activities as required

Qualifications / Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in annonce engineering or computer science / information technology
2. Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply)
3. Possession of certifications such as CIDB Green Card, NIOSH (TM & TNB), WAH, and competency certificates (PW1–PW4, Grid CQP) will be an added advantage
4. Strong technical knowledge in the following areas:
   • AutoCAD drawings in compliance with client and local authority requirements
   • Fiber optic systems, including ISP (Power Utility SDH, PTN, DWDM) and FTTX/ODN
   • Civil OSP works, including area surveys, cable splicing, operation of test equipment, and permit coordination
   • Data center infrastructure, including structured cabling and network implementation
   • Skillful in cablings (electrical and datacom) and in‑building trunkings
5. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, self‑disciplined, and able to work independently
6. Good communication skills, cooperative attitude, resilience, and strong teamwork spirit
7. Good report writing and presentation skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English pihak?
8. Possession of a valid driving license is an added advantage
9. Willing to travel extensively, including short‑notice and long outstation assignments
10. Fresh graduates and entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply
