Job Responsibilities

The Corp Investigation Legal Counsel Manager will be responsible for leading, conducting, and overseeing corporate compliance investigations arising from alleged misconduct reported through the company's various channels. The role involves managing the notification, recording, and reporting processes related to these investigations and working with senior leadership to assess and address significant legal risks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively assisting and/or conducting investigations of personnel-related allegations of misconduct.
  • Overseeing and conducting legally privileged investigations, which includes defining scope, reviewing documentation, developing investigative plans, notifying personnel, conducting interviews, compiling reports, recommending remedial measures, and concluding matters appropriately.
  • Providing advice to organizational leadership concerning risk and appropriate remedial measures related to allegations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external resources to resolve allegations of misconduct or improper practices.
  • Overseeing, counseling, guiding, training, and supporting attorneys and other investigative personnel for conducting investigations.
  • Drafting and/or reviewing analyses to address risks of misconduct.
  • Consulting with and advising HR leadership on the nature, risks, investigation, and remediation of matters.
  • Working with regional Corporate Investigators, Geographic Legal and HR Leads, Global leads of internal functions, and other Global leadership on investigations.
  • Staying abreast of legal developments affecting investigations, rights of reporting individuals, rights of accused, and compliance-related standards.
  • Identifying and escalating matters to Regional Leads for oversight.
  • Developing internal guidelines on investigation-related issues.
Education and Experience

Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent required.

Skills & Work Experience
  • At least 6 to 8 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) with: a) At least 2 years of experience conducting workplace investigations; or b) 3 years of experience with employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strategic business acumen, and capability in addressing sensitive and complicated ethical conduct/compliance and personnel-related matters.
  • Experience and demonstrated capability in conducting and supervising investigations, including compliance-related investigations, employment investigations, and governmental investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of local ethical/conduct/compliance-related risks, employee rights and obligations, and related laws.
  • Extensive experience in employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Team-oriented, yet able to work independently.
  • Experience working in a multi-national and culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to significantly influence senior executive management decisions and command respect from executives.
  • Ability to present careful, balanced, objective, lawful, and well-reasoned solutions.
  • Responsive and follows through on commitments.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and strong executive presence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
