We Are Looking For:
Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for critical operations function management, effective daily leadership, uninterrupted operations and administration of data center critical operations and 24x7 crews with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and reliably operating, and maintaining the critical engineering infrastructure, systems, and equipment in a cost-effective manner
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish 52 Weeks calendar and update all plan preventive maintenance, Annual Shut Down and other related activities
- Ensuring customer service level agreements are always compiled, the SLA covers such as maintaining data centre environment conditions, full uptime of critical system
- Assist and support incident escalation to customer within agreed timeline upon reported to monitoring centre, and written incident report issue as required
- Ensure completion of monthly scheduled maintenance as per SLA
- Ensuring Change Request Form and work method statement including LOTO required under Change Management Workflow Process for assigned facilities and systems
- Ensuring necessary MOP, SOP and EOP are developed, updated and executed with full compliance
- Promote knowledge sharing and train the team to understand when needed
- Work closely with other function leaders such as with EHS manager to identify engineering safety hazards and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure staff and occupants work in a safe environment
- Manage coordination with customer for blackout date
- Work closely with the Operation Executive to ensure all functions of operation are maintained and up to date, including building drawings and single lines as well as documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with State or Local law
- Ensuring CFM and vendors are effectively and consistently trained and qualified for their assigned facilities and associated work in our critical environment
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data center operations. Drive opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability
- Responsible for protecting and improving the assets’ value. Ensuring the critical systems reliably perform their intended function
- Coordinate with OEM/vendors for technical maintenance and troubleshooting activities associated with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and cooling systems and improve functioning/availability of machinery, equipment and building infrastructure
- Identify, assess and control risks (i.e. safety, environmental, operational)
- Verify maintenance, calibration and inspection work done
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance checklists, and incident tickets in the CMMS
- Assist in equipment life cycle management and advise to technical manager where necessary
- Analyze test data, generate engineering reports, and recommend improvement or replacement actions
- Ensure compliance with operational protocols, ISO standards, HSE and all regulatory laws and guidelines, including licenses and certifications promptly renewed
- Manage and coordinate daily activities of vendors and contractors including access, permit to work, PM work, emergency support and spare part availability to ensure all systems operate within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and prescribed environmental setpoints
- Support to make critical decision for team with best benefit result for PDG
- Support Continuous Improvement Plan program for system performance
- Attend and assist in daily operation meeting with SME, Vendors and Managers to update daily operation issue, outstanding activities, system capacity and energy usage
- Assist to monitor all critical data centre parameters and utility consumption trends to ensure compliance with operating specifications, promptly analysing and escalating any abnormalities or deviations
- Ensure uninterrupted operations before, during, and after maintenance work
- Prepare necessary report in routine basis. Highlight and follow up whenever issues encountered
- Assist in incident management by executing escalation procedures according to criticality and priority
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits by preparing documents and facilitating site access
- Committed to operating after office hours and public holidays during emergencies to provide support to the team and return to site if necessary. Required to stand by 24x7 on call
- Perform other duties as required
Qualities You Should Have:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Facility Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines
- At least 3 years of experience in data centre operations or critical facilities
- Strong leadership and decision-making under pressure
- Highly proficient in communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, disciplined, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
- Team player with the ability to coordinate across departments
- Cross culturally aware and adaptable
