Job summary

A leading automation solutions provider located in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking an Electrical Control Engineer to plan and monitor electrical control tasks, ensure compliance with project timelines, and perform on-site troubleshooting of control systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in automation solutions. Fresh graduates with strong academic qualifications are encouraged to apply. Job description
Responsibilities

Plan and monitor all electrical control tasks, including design, panel build, programming and testing.

Coordinate project schedules with Mechanical, Production and Service departments.

Ensure all control deliverables meet project timelines and quality requirements.

Report control progress, risk, and manpower planning to the Engineering Director.

Perform on-site troubleshooting of electrical control systems (PLC, HMI, servo, sensors, and safety circuits).

Modify, fine‑tune, and update PLC/HMI programs on the spot to resolve functional issues or optimize machine performance.

Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and machine commissioning.

Verify machine operation matches customer specifications and safety requirements.

Review and approve vendor design, wiring diagram, and program structure to ensure compliance with company standards.

Conduct vendor performance evaluation, provide feedback, and ensure quality consistency.

Prepare and maintain accurate documentation: I/O list, BOM, wiring diagram, program backup, FAT/SAT checklist, etc.

Ensure all control software and drawings are version‑controlled, archived, and retrievable.

Assist in developing and enforcing department standards for electrical design and control programming.

Act as the main coordination point between the Electrical Control Department and other project functions.

Travel to customer site (local & overseas) for machine installation, commissioning and testing.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical / Mechatronic or Automation Engineering
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical control design, PLC/HMI programming, and automation machinery.
  • Fresh graduates with excellent academic qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Proven hands‑on experience in troubleshooting and modifying PLC/HMI programs (Omron, Keyence, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen‑Bradley preferred).
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards, servo and motion systems, control circuit design.
  • Experience managing external control vendors or subcontractors is highly valued.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Able to work independently on‑site and make quick, sound technical decisions.
