Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Malaysia seeks an Electrical Engineer to coordinate projects, conduct system testing, and implement designs using CAD software. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and possesses strong communication skills and project management experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting systems, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Candidates with PLC programming experience will be at an advantage.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Able to understand Engineering drawings and perform basic engineering calculations, and design.
  • Responsible for project coordination and implementation.
  • Conduct system testing, calibration, and functionality checks for equipment, control panels, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Perform commissioning activities on site, including start-up, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimisation of systems.
  • Work closely with Automation, Mechanical, and Design teams to ensure smooth integration and performance.
  • Identify and resolve electrical, automation, and system-related issues at site.
  • Liaising with other engineers and clients to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Managing and monitoring all assigned electrical projects.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders; clients, consultants, main contractors, local authorities, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  • Using CAD software to draft designs.
  • Prepare progress reports and scheduling reports to Project Manager.
  • Diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ensuring all deadlines and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Ensuring health and safety codes are always obeyed.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar.
  • Experience with CAD software and MS Office.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and always remain professional.
  • Preferred 2-3 year(s) of working experience in the related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate possess PLC programming will be an added advantage.
