Job summary

A leading multinational food company in Penang is seeking an experienced technician to carry out maintenance and repairs on electrical systems. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Chargeman certificate. You will facilitate safe operations while minimizing downtime and enhancing the efficiency of food production machinery. Candidates with prior experience in the food industry will have an advantage. The role requires shift flexibility and strong hands-on troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of working experience in the field.
• Work in Food Industry is an added value.
• Able to work in shift/normal operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, servicing, and maintenance works on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist machine operator in troubleshooting major machine downtime issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities at the line/plant level.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, servicing and planned preventative maintenance works in line with departmental programmes to a broad range of mechanical and electrical building engineering services
• Work individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks
• Carry out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks as directed, always demonstrating flexibility in relation to tasks allocated
• To carry out job with mindset of maintaining 0 safety incident and quality defects at all times
• Attend mandatory trainings (GMP, HALAL, Safety, HACCP) and other training required for the role
• Assist machine operator in troubleshooting major machine downtime issues
• Involve in IL6S activities or any continuous improvement activities at the line/plant level
• Carry out any job with comply with food quality policies and regulations as per company standards
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Capable of owning (SME) and operating more than one main equipment to support flow-to-work
• Work closely with Production team on site to keep machinery and equipment running smoothly without interruption of production
• Participate in SGA activity and being the key members in lean/improvement project

Job Requirement

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any engineering related field
• Candidate must possess Chargeman certificate level AO/A1/A4 issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga or any recognized institution
• Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia
• At least 3 Year(s) and above of working experience in the field
• Work in Food Industry before will be added value
• Required Skill(s): Machine troubleshooting skill and ability to understand circuit diagrams
• Able to work in shift/normal operation
• Hands-on skill on electrical works in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing of electrical installations and equipment
