Job summary

A leading consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Service Line Manager to drive strategic planning and resource management. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of relevant experience and a degree in a related discipline. Responsibilities include managing budgets, scheduling tax professionals, and improving resource allocation processes. Strong communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Candidates must be residents of Malaysia or have the right to work in Malaysia.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Drive annual strategic planning process, including budget planning.

  • Resolve resource booking conflicts and gathering requirements.
  • Engage senior leadership to understand priorities.

Work you’ll do
  • Degree in any discipline, preferably Accounting, Statistics, Finance or Economics.
  • Min 6-8 years of working experience in resource management or a similar role within a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as outcome focused and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strategic thinking, data-driven decision making and agile.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with process improvement and automation initiatives is a plus.

Job Description
  • Resource Management: Drive annual strategic planning process across the specific portfolio, including budget planning and management.
  • Plan and schedule appropriate tax professionals to jobs and projects, based on capability and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Utilization Reporting: Review resource utilization and trends to determine staffing requirements, forecasts and potential roadblocks. Analyze relevant data and provide timely reports and information to the management team.
  • Resource Tracking: Maintain accurate records and database of clients and service team information.
  • Continuous improvement and compliance: Identify opportunity to improve resource management process and operations and ensure compliance with company standard on resource allocations.
  • Conflict resolution: Resolve resource booking conflicts and gathering requirements. Act as a resource management focal for the center.
  • Stakeholders management: Engage senior leadership team periodically to understand priorities.
