Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounting)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing the Finance and Accounting department, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and best practices.
  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring effective cash flow management.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and control.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying variances and providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and mentor finance and accounting staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and industry trends to align the finance function with best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or deputy role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing talent.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
