Job description
Deputy Dean (Faculty of Computing and Engineering)

Quest International University – Ipoh, Perak

Assist the Dean in the overall planning, management and execution of faculty operations.

Oversee academic quality assurance, including curriculum review, teaching and learning enhancement, and compliance with accreditation requirements.

Supervise HOPs and coordinate teaching schedules to ensure equitable staff workload distribution.

Monitor student academic performance and provide leadership in implementing academic support and retention strategies.

Represent the faculty in university committees, working groups, and external engagements as assigned by the Dean.

Support the development of research culture, industry collaboration, and community engagement projects.

Perform other duties as directed by the Dean or higher management in line with faculty goals.

Requirements
  • A PhD in Computing or a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • At least 8–15 years of teaching and academic leadership experience at the tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme accreditation, curriculum review, and academic quality assurance.
  • Capable of driving academic excellence, innovation in teaching, and faculty development initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and mentoring skills to build collaboration among staff and students.
  • Familiar with university governance, MQA documentation, and MOHE regulations.
  • Experience in digital learning, AI adoption, or technology‑enhanced education is an added advantage.
  • Active participation in professional bodies or networks related to the field of expertise.
