Job description

Responsibilities

• Access, query, and analyze data from Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and written summaries.
• Perform data collection for new projects, including data scraping, ingestion, and consolidation from multiple sources.
• Clean, preprocess, and transform data (data wrangling, massaging, and validation).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reports and analyses.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Document data definitions, assumptions, and analytical methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with hands‑on experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (preferred) and PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to analyze data and produce meaningful business insights.
• Experience creating dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, cleaning, and automation.
• Strong experience with data wrangling, preprocessing, and data quality checks.
• Understanding of relational database concepts, indexing, and query optimization.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with data engineering tools (Airflow, dbt, SSIS, or similar).
• Experience with web scraping frameworks and techniques.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics.
• Experience working with legacy systems and databases.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative analytics workflows.
