Role: VP of Data Centre Development and Government Relations (Malaysia)

Our client is looking for a Director or VP of Data Centre Development and Government Relations to cover their Malaysia business.
They are a fast-growing data center developer with ambitious plans in Malaysia and beyond.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the development and expansion of data center projects in Malaysia, conducting forward-looking planning and analysis of resources based on industry business distribution and regional entry strategies.
- Stay informed about land information, market dynamics, policies, regulations, and industry trends in target expansion areas, and establish a foundational database for investment expansion business.
- Coordinate and organize other relevant business departments within the company to conduct in-depth research and feasibility analysis of projects, complete investment expansion decision recommendations, and manage risk analysis throughout the project bidding and acquisition process.
- Responsible for project evaluation within the region, researching market conditions, organizing and participating in business negotiations for projects, and driving the progress of investment projects throughout the entire process. Lead the acquisition of land and investment projects, and organize and implement business negotiations, bidding, and agreement finalization.
- Establish and maintain strong public relations with government entities and corporate partners, with ongoing relationship management. Candidates with work experience or strong communication skills in departments such as development and reform, economy and information technology, and electric power are preferred.
- Responsible for completing other tasks assigned by senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Strong in data centre development, such as site selection and acquisition.
- Familiarity with cooperation and investment negotiation processes involving government and large enterprises, as well as relevant laws and regulations. Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication, coordination, public relations, and negotiation skills.
- Strong writing skills, certain government resources, investment attraction resources, excellent verbal expression skills, and customer service awareness.
- Good health, strong ability to work under pressure, strong sense of responsibility, and excellent professionalism.
- Candidates with government work experience or relevant resources will be given priority
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Experience in government work or large-scale industrial parks.
