Job description
Customs Operations Supervisor (Logistic)
  • Maintain ongoing communication and correspondence with all relevant parties, ensuring timely feedback and status updates to the superior.
  • Distribute and coordinate tasks fairly among the Customs Clerk team to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Coordinate inspections and examinations with Government agencies such as SIRIM, CIDB MAQIS, KKM, Pharmacy and others.
  • Ensure smooth, efficient, and professional execution of forwarding operations at all Port (Port Klang).
  • Manage, expedite, and monitor customs operations to ensure effective and efficient clearance of all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Attend to all queries raised by Customs Officers, including matters related to documentation, and accompany customers to Customs when required.
  • Oversee, support, and monitor the EDI team in performing declarations accurately. Advise coordinators on the correct tariff codes and liaise with Penjenisan when necessary to confirm classification.
  • Monitor and verify the amended balance (MIDA exemption) and expiry dates of Bank Guarantee (BG).
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the superior as and when required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in customs clearance, forwarding operations, or related logistics roles.
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, tariff classification, and documentation requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience dealing with government agencies such as SIRIM, CIDB, MAQIS, KKM, Pharmacy, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Familiar with Port Klang operations and customs processes for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Proficient in using EDI systems for customs declaration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with Customs Officers and handle queries professionally.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to handle time‑sensitive clearance issues.
