Job description
Corporate Engagement and Outreach Manager

i) Building non-commercial (mission-driven) brand affinity, trust, and long-term relationships among identified key stakeholders within the education ecosystem and the surrounding community.

ii) Driving engagement initiatives that reinforce Pelangi’s identity as a holistic, future-forward educational publisher.

iii) Supporting management in corporate engagements, sustainability & innovative-focused programs, and experiential education activities.

iv) Growing traffic, and awareness of Pelangi Books Gallery as both an onsite and online bookstore and brand experience.

Leading or supporting management in planning and executing key corporate activities aligned with the organisation’s mission, direction and aspirations.

2. CSR, Sustainability & Community Engagement

Ensuring that Pelangi's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), branded as "Pelangi Cares," and community-based initiatives strengthen the organisation as an education mission-driven entity while making a positive and measurable impact among the target audience and sector.

  • Coordinate Pelangi Education Tours (Kembara Buku), industry exposure visits (STEM Education Corridor), gallery tours (Pelangi Books Gallery), and other related educational activities.
  • Initiate sustainable education initiatives, including renewable energy-related educational programmes (solar power) and 3R practices (Trade-in Programme with PBG).
  • Initiate, lead, and support corporate events such as ministry and NGO visits, MOU ceremonies, and professional (Scientists, Academicians etc.) engagements – connecting communities with real-world education.
3. Brand Affinity & Corporate Vision and Mission Communication

Enhance Pelangi's brand presence and “brand story” within the education community.

  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to develop narratives, campaigns, and programme contents.
  • Create outreach toolkits, programme activation and support materials, and corporate presentation decks.
  • Establish and manage corporate websites and content for digital social media postings, blogs and subsidiary/PBG websites.
4. Traffic Generation for Pelangi Books Gallery & Wisma Pelangi

Lead community activation efforts to enhance the gallery's role as a hub for learning and engagement.

  • Design educational or engagement programs that resonate, are relevant and generate interest among teachers, parents, students, and community groups.
  • Implement school-to-site initiatives, including tours, workshops, competitions, learning fairs, and exhibitions.
  • Support data collection, visitor analytics, and the improvement of visitor experiences.
5. Departmental Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

Lead a small but highly impactful Engagement and Outreach team.

  • Oversee planning, delegation, risk management (participants safety & legal implications), and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the department heads and PBG on recruiting, volunteer coordination
