ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the global corporate communications function, this role exists to give voice to our company mission, values and people across Growth Markets (GrM). The function does this by enhancing and protecting the Boston Scientific reputation, brand and culture through strategic, integrated internal and external communications that deliver on business imperatives and inspire and engage stakeholders. This role represents the global corporate communications function across GrM, applying all relevant global policies and procedures to ensure that Boston Scientific speaks with “one voice” across the globe whilst appreciating local needs. The role includes the management and development of any PR agencies contracted to support implementation of the corporate communications strategy and any earned media activity as part of broader marketing plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Communications

In close partnership with HR, support the employee engagement agenda using internal communications across GrM and accessing global / regional channels by:

  • Identifying and prioritizing business needs
  • Developing and implementing a tactical internal communications plan (as part of a holistic corporate communications strategy)
  • Identifying KPIs and measuring success

The internal communications plan should comprise (but not be limited to):

  • GrM-wide messages from GrM MD and other senior leaders
  • GrM-wide employee events
  • Ad hoc GrM-wide initiatives aligned to the corporate communications strategy
  • Exploitation of internal awards
External Communications

In close partnership with Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Health Economics and Government Affairs and IT functions and in alignment with global and regional corporate communication colleagues and policies and processes, drive understanding and awareness of Boston Scientific across GrM to support the commercial and talent agendas by:

  • Identifying and prioritizing business needs and target audiences
  • Developing and implementing a tactical external communications plan (as part of a holistic corporate communications strategy)
  • Identifying KPIs and measuring success

The external communications plan should comprise (but not be limited to):

  • All media relations activity including:
    • In-scope social media activity
    • In-scope digital media activity
  • Exploitation of industry awards and other reputation driving opportunities
  • Third party use of the Boston Scientific name
Leadership Communications

Partner with GrM MD to provide counsel and advice on all matters pertaining to leadership communication including (but not limited to):

  • Media and presentation training
  • Identification of appropriate media opportunities, including all media outreach
  • Briefing notes and other relevant support
  • Partner with business leaders and global / regional stakeholders to effectively manage risk through effective communication with a view to mitigating business impact.
Brand Standards
  • Serve as an ambassador for global Brand Standards, ensuring awareness and application across GrM, training / educating as required.
Agency and Budget Management
  • Manage all aspects of any relevant agency relationships and manage all budgets associated with the corporate communications strategy.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Previous demonstrated success at Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross functionally with Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Affairs etc.
  • Authenticity in communication and decision-making, fostering trust and transparency.
  • A resourceful approach to problem‑solving, leveraging available tools and networks effectively.
  • The ability to work independently, managing tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive mindset, anticipating needs and taking initiative to drive outcomes.
  • Self‑directed learning and development, continuously seeking growth opportunities.
