Commodity Management Associate (Start ASAP)
Join Celestica as a Commodity Management Associate 1 in Kulim, Malaysia, managing commodity pricing, sourcing, and supplier relationships in a global supply chain environment.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining regional or global responsibility for specific commodities including price/value determination, sourcing, negotiations, terms & conditions, and supplier relationship development.
- Quoting and negotiating products and services quarterly and developing cost of customer bids within response time objectives.
- Supporting bid activities by collaborating with site teams to compile and deliver material commitments to customers.
- Participating in Commodity Council Corporate negotiation teams and Customer Materials Commitment processes by providing material pricing and data analysis.
- Conducting Quarterly Business Reviews with top suppliers and reviewing customer BOMs for quarterly commitments.
- Coordinating supplier communication and resolving supplier performance feedback, report card issues, and bids.
- Supporting site SCM buying teams during product shortages or supplier performance issues, including escalation and alternative source development.
- Assisting customers in resolving quality, serviceability, and performance issues related to products or bid activities.
- Consolidating, tabulating, analyzing, and reporting on commitment and performance metrics.
- Providing product cost support for assigned geographies and preparing bids including BOM generation, cost analysis, supplier negotiation, and management presentations.
- Updating material prices database, analyzing bills of materials for competitiveness and customer compliance, and reviewing with management.
- Managing Master Data in ERP systems (SAP) to enable operations, business decisions, and efficient data use.
- Receiving, analyzing, and setting up commercial data in ERP systems ensuring completeness for PO execution and business impact analysis.
- Communicating with sites and internal teams to resolve data integrity and PO issues.
- Supporting purchasing information maintenance in collaboration with Commodity Managers and internal teams.
- Supporting customer/client experience and meeting KPIs.
About You
The company is looking for candidates with:
- Degree or Diploma certificates.
- Preferably supply chain experience of more than 1 year or fresh graduates.
- Ability to work permanent night shifts only.
- Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
- Fluent English communication skills; additional languages such as French or Japanese are an advantage.
- Ability to perform extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on computer monitors or detailed data.
- Working knowledge of marketplace conditions including industry pricing, technology, and supply/demand trends.
- Ability to coordinate purchasing information maintenance with Commodity Managers and internal teams, including analysis of PIR spend, demand, and expiry dates.
- Strong communication skills to resolve data integrity and commercial data setup issues affecting PO execution.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, accuracy, and working under tight deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.
