Qualifications

  • Availability to join full-time from March 2026.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear concise writing, strong verbal and listening skills.
  • Team player with a collaborative working style.
  • Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

S&P Global Commodity Insights' Commodity Associate Program is a 7‑month rotational program starting in March 2026. After a month of comprehensive training, participants will undertake two three‑month rotations in different commodity sectors. As a Commodity Associate you will reactively support price reporting, generate assessments, and produce market commentary and news pieces that power our pricing benchmarks and analytics.

Team

You will be part of our Market Reporting & Trading Solutions Team, responsible for global pricing and real‑time news coverage across multiple commodity sectors. The team publishes the largest number of price assessments for commodities worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Write concise, informative commentary.
  • Develop and use successful interviewing techniques to gather data for commentary.
  • Identify drivers that move the daily markets.
  • Verify source information through appropriate channels.
  • Learn and demonstrate understanding of Platts Market‑on‑Close assessment process.
  • Complete all assigned news training modules and foundational training to learn about the commodity market.
